- In this class, I will present the basic understanding I have acquired of kirtan’s spirit, mechanics and orientation.
Establishing and maintaining the appropriate mood is of primary importance and gives us the theme underlying our efforts as kirtaniyas. Within this context, we will look at the basic musical and philosophical concepts behind ISKCON’s kirtan style and specifically, what role Sri Mridanga and the mridanga player fill in that context. I will also introduce students to some basic mantras used to gain technical competence and for basic accompaniment in most ISKCON kirtan. Students are required to bring a notebook and pen and where possible, a mridanga.

Europe's Most Developing Sustainable Eco Village - The Eco-valley Program and New Vraja Dhama
- The Eco-valley project is a village-size experiment involving 150 devotees, volunteers and almost 50 different institutions. They all contribute to the project with their own research and experience. They show us the results that can be obtained when a community has environmental consciousness embedded in its every-day life. Day-to-day, this project presents us with an alternative as to how we can tackle not only environmental problems but also pressing social and economical problems affecting the world. We have not only targeted protecting our environment, shaping people’s views, or protecting our water-resources, we are giving an example of environmental, economic and social sustainability.

Unhealthy, wounded, abusive and broken relationships are not a rarity anymore, but have become the norm. In one disturbing trend,today college students find themselves in the midst of increasing incidents of relationship violence, hatred and prejudice. Studies show increased risk of death and disease among persons with poor quantity andquality of relationships. Positive, loving relationships are necessary for our overall well-being.
